Routine Servicing Explained in more detail - Hot Tub Hero's

Routine Servicing Explained

We have put together some explanations on our Routine Servicing to give you a better idea of what each service includes.

Annual Full Service

As its name suggests, this is a once-a-year intensive clean and service of your hot tub together with a full check of the tub, pipework, jets and all fittings.

Firstly, we check the tub is in good working order. The filters are then removed, sprayed with chemical cleaner, rinsed and put to one side ready to be reused or replaced if necessary. We then introduce a chemical cleaner to the water and run the pumps. This cleaner removes all the “biofilm buildup” that has accumulated since the last service (biofilm is a mixture of fat, skin cells and dirt that builds up in the pipework, heater and pumps). We then drain down the tub, give it a thorough clean and vacuum out any residual water. At this point we check the hot tub, all pipework and jets for any signs of damage or wear. Pumps and heaters are drained, dismantled, cleaned and inspected before reassembly. The hot tub is refilled with clean water, which is then treated using the customers’ own chemicals. Pumps and pipework are bled of any air before being run and checked once again for any signs of leaks. Finally, we will clean down the inspection panels and replace them before asking you to check and sign off the work.

Chemical Clean

Known by many different names, this service is very similar to the Annual Full Service.

We use the same chemical cleaner to break down the biofilm from within the pumps and pipework, drain down the tub and give it a thorough clean. The filters are removed, sprayed with chemical cleaner, rinsed and put to one side ready to be reused or replaced if necessary. The hot tub is refilled with clean water, which is then treated using the customers’ own chemicals. Pumps and pipework are bled of any air before being run and checked for any signs of leaks. Finally, we will clean down the inspection panel and replace it before asking you to check and sign off the work.

Winterisation Service

Just like a motorhome or caravan, the Winterisation Service will prepare your hot tub for a winter of hibernation.

Firstly, chemical cleaner is introduced to break down the biofilm from within the pumps and pipework. We then drain down the tub and give it a thorough clean. Individual components such as heaters and pumps are drained and cleaned. The filters are removed, sprayed with chemical cleaner, rinsed and handed to the owner for storage over winter. Finally, we will clean down the inspection panel and replace it, wrapping the cover and the tub in an industrial film for protection and set the isolator to the off position (to cut off and make the electrics safe) before asking you to check and sign off the work.

Spring Startup Service

The opposite to the Winterisation Service, the ideal service for bringing your hot tub out of hibernation or for commissioning a newly moved tub.

Firstly, we check the hot tub, all pipework and jets for any signs of damage or wear. Pumps and heaters are dismantled, cleaned and inspected before reassembly. The hot tub is filled with clean water, which is then treated using the customers’ own chemicals. Pumps and pipework are bled of any air before being run and checked for any signs of leaks. Finally, we will clean down the inspection panel and replace it before asking you to check and sign off the work.

Hopefully the explanations above have been helpful.
